The first release with 15 exercises covers reading and spelling capabilities up to grade 2 (levels up to grade 4 will follow in the future).

 

DocLexiTM covers the various categories aimed at helping children improve their reading and spelling capabilities. In order to be most effective, the exercises are designed with (i) age / grade and (ii) skill levels in mind, e.g. there is level 1 for younger ages (5/6) or older (6/7) children who are weak with basic pre-reading & beginning reading skills.

 

These levels build slowly & cover skills that blend / overlap through earliest grades K-1-2-3 – in 6 levels.

 

Levels covered by first release:

(I) Level 1: Objective – lift students to / develops end of kindergarden/ beginning 1st grade reading level; ages 5-6

(II) Level 2: Objective – lift students to / develops some end of K skills & works through beginning 1st to ending 1st grade reading level; ages 6-7

 

General Reading Skills / Categories covered:

(I) Visual Spatial & Visual Perceptual / Sequencing tasks

Definition: Visual discrimination of words and letters / Tracking from Left to Right / Top to bottom

(II) Phonological Awareness (Auditory based)

Definition: is a broad skill that includes identifying and manipulating units of oral language – parts such as words, syllables, and onsets and rimes.

(III) Sound & Sound Pattern Recognition (Graphemes):

Definition: Identify letter or letters that make a sound in a word.

(IV) Spelling / Phonics

Definition – Phonics / Phonemic Awareness: Phonemic awareness refers to the specific ability to focus on and manipulate individual sounds (phonemes) into spoken words
